Pam Proctor, the president
and primary advisor for College Application Consultants, Inc.,
graduated from Mount Holyoke College and earned a master’s
degree in government from Claremont Graduate University.
The
Vero Beach Press Journal called her a “Cheerleader
Extraordinaire” for her motivational approach to working
with college-bound teens.

been quoted
as an expert on college admissions in publications
ranging from the 2008 college edition of “America’s
Best Colleges” by U.S. News & World Report,
to the 2004 edition of “How to Get Into College” by Newsweek-Kaplan,
to an AP story on the “new” SAT that was picked
up in USA Today and other publications coast to

Pam holds memberships in the National
Association for College Admission Counseling and
the Overseas Press Club. Since 1999, she
has worked as a college consultant to the International
Baccalaureate Program of Sebastian River High

A former senior editor of Parade magazine,
Pam is the author of eleven nonfiction books, including The
Joy of Living, with “Today Show” weatherman
Willard Scott, and Looking Good at Any Age, with
dermatologist Amy E. Newburger, M.D. Her book, Song
of Saigon: One Woman’s Journey to Freedom,
a memoir and family saga written with former Vietnamese
refugee Anh Vu Sawyer, was published by Warner in 2003
to critical acclaim. |

In 2006 Pam joined with Thomas
Kinkade,
the world renowned artist, and Robert Goodwin, President
of the Points of Light Foundation, to write Points
of Light: A Celebration of the American Spirit of Giving. The
inspirational collection of volunteer stories features a

In collaboration with the Laura
(Riding) Jackson Foundation and Charlotte Terry, Pam
founded and coordinates the Teen
Writers Workshop, a series of half-day seminars
designed to introduce high school students to professional
writers and offer practical writing experience and feedback.
The workshops have been funded in the past by the National
Endowment for the Arts and the State of Florida’s
Division of Cultural Affairs. Click

Pam is married to the writer William Proctor,
a graduate of Harvard College ( magna cum laude in
history) and The Harvard Law School, who has authored or
coauthored more than eighty books, including such international
bestsellers as Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper’s Controlling
Cholesterol, and The Breakout Principle, with
Dr. Herbert Benson of Harvard Medical School. Her son, Michael
Proctor, a graduate of Amherst College with a degree in philosophy,
is a C-130 pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps. Click
